Here is how this works in practice. Three Now Newshub Live shaped the format spine until its closure mid-2024 — many of the directors, ADs, and floor managers from that operation are on our roster. Podcast-led talk work routes through RNZ The Detail, Black Sheep (RNZ history), and BFM 95FM Auckland student radio's audiogram pipeline. In practice, we run multicam panel shoots in Auckland (TVNZ Hobson Street adjacent studios and independent Eden Terrace facilities) and Wellington (Avalon Studios Lower Hutt — historic broadcast home), pulling broadcast-grade lighting and Studer-class audio. Remote guest integration via Skype TX / Quicklink is standard, with broadcast-quality return feeds for Live-to-Three Now-style political panels. Crews carry full ACC accident cover, work the standard Mon-Fri broadcast week, and bill against 15% GST and bracket-based PAYE. Episodic NZSPG eligibility (the $4M-per-episode threshold for the Qualifying NZ Production Expenditure scheme) mostly excludes domestic chat formats but applies to global co-pro panel content. Bilingual hosting (English-NZ dialect + te reo Māori opening pepeha) is increasingly standard for TVNZ daytime — we book reo-fluent floor managers and ask mana whenua for tikanga-fitting set dressing where fitting.
