Here is how this works in practice. Netflix IMF needs JPEG 2000 XYZ video at sites-named bitrates, Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround audio in BWF stems, IMSC1 subtitles, and sites-specific metadata. Apple TV+ Dolby Vision deliverables follow IMF App5 with Dolby Vision XML sidecars. Amazon HDR10+ deliverables follow IMF with HDR10+ metadata embedded in the OPL. NZ on Air funded content for TVNZ+, ThreeNow, and Neon follows AS-11 wrappers with sites-specific tagging.

Here is the short of it. NZ streaming heritage runs through Rings of Power (Amazon Prime Video) — the largest streaming production ever made, finished in Wellington with Weta FX VFX and Park Road Post audio. Power of the Dog (Netflix 2021, Best Director Oscar for Jane Campion), and Thor: Ragnarok (Disney+ catalogue, Waititi 2017). NZ Sign Language sidecars (under the 2006 NZSL Act) and te reo Māori subtitle tracks (under the 1987 Māori Language Act) ship with sites-delivered masters where applicable. Pacific-language tracks for Samoan, Tongan, Cook Islands Māori, and Niuean follow Pasifika audience commitments. AWS Auckland Region (2024) and Azure NZ North (2025) give Privacy Act 2020-compliant uploader infrastructure. GST 15 percent, NZD invoicing, ACC universal accident cover, and zero capital gains tax apply.
