Here is how this works in practice. We produce fashion film for brands operating inside the New Zealand Fashion Week ecosystem (Auckland-based since 2001 — the country's calendar anchor) and across the Karen Walker / World / Zambesi / Trelise Cooper heritage axis that defines NZ's luxury and provocative export labels. Karen Walker's Auckland-based global brand (including the eyewear line) and World's Wellington-based art-fashion crossover give us two distinct visual languages — and our DOPs have shot for both.

Here is how this works in practice. Liz Mitchell couture, Adrienne Winkelmann, Maaike, Kowtow (The capital sustainable), Saskia van Embden, Twenty-seven Names, plus the Pacific Pasifika fashion movement and Vintage Aotearoa 1960s-70s heritage revival together represent the full reference deck we typically build moodboards from. Talent windows route through Auckland-based agencies (62, Clyne, N Model Management) and increasingly through Pasifika-led casting houses that prioritise real representation for Tāmaki Makaurau campaigns.

Here is the short of it. In practice, we shoot New Zealand Fashion Week runway and backstage with multicam roving operators, on-set DIT for same-evening edit-and-publish, and broadcast-quality social cuts for global syndication. Location windows lean heavily on Auckland heritage Britomart streetscapes, Wellington Cuba Street's art-school grit, Karekare Beach for cinematic editorial (the Piano black-sand-beach Jane Campion lineage), and Central Otago's lavender-and-pinot light for autumn collections. Crews carry full ACC accident cover, models are ACC-covered, and we bill against 15% GST and bracket-based PAYE. Pasifika-fashion shoots and any work referencing iwi/hapū motifs need tikanga consultation and karakia — we lock these protocols into pre-production. Shoot windows favour autumn Mar-May (golden hour magnificence for AW collections) and spring Sep-Nov (clean light for SS resort campaigns). Ex-tropical cyclones in March-April are the main weather risk we plan contingencies around.
